Abstract:

BIOS contains data on the world’s Bacteria, Archaea and Cyanobacteria (or Cyanophyta). This CD only includes data on the Bacteria and Archaea (about 6,600 species, over 11,000 names). Besides taxonomic and strain data, BIOS contains links to further information in many other data sources. Data in BIOS have been developed by a team based at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (Japan), Jean Euzéby at the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse (France), and the Deutsche Sammlung von Mikroorganismen und Zellkulturen GmbH (Germany).
