| Abstract: | This database contributes data on members of the order Actiniaria (sea anemones) to the Catalogue of Life. The original Hexacorals database also provides information on the taxa, literature, type specimens, distribution maps, and images of extant hexacorallians. As well as the order Actiniaria, the Hexacorals database also includes data on members of the orders Corallimorpharia, Ptychodactiaria, and Zoanthidea (sea anemones in the loose sense), Ceriantharia (tube anemones), and Scleractinia (hard or stony corals). |
