Abstract: The UNESCO-IOC Register of Marine Organisms (URMO) is an already large and gradually growing dataset that is being edited by Jacob van der Land at the National Museum of Natural History, Leiden and many co-authors. URMO is hosted by the Flanders Marine Institute (VLIZ) as a contribution to IODE. The Register contains a number of global species databases for exclusively marine invertebrates and 25 of these are included in this Annual Checklist in 12 phyla and 10 classes.
