Abstract: Phyllachorales are mostly biotrophic parasites of angiosperms with strong evidence of co-evolution (particularly with the legumes and grasses); some are necrotrophic and a few saprobic. They occur primarily on the leaves and stems, rarely on the roots and have a widespread, but especially tropical, distribution linked, in the case of the biotrophs, with their hosts.
